As you are not permitted to drive on public roads
before you are 17 years old, we use an off road circuit at
Westpoint in Exeter for these lessons. It is a purpose
built track designed to take the stress out of learning to
control the car in a quiet enviroment. Its practice road network
includes junctions, pedestrian crossings, roundabouts, traffic
lights and signs etc.
One of our instructors can arrange to meet you at Westpoint, or
alternativly they can pick you up and take you there,
but you will be charged for the traveling time. During
your lessons here, we will introduce all the controls
of the vehicle to you and explain how they work, get you moving
off and stopping the car and doing basic junction work, which
will give you a head start when you get out onto the road
when you turn 17.
The opening times for the circuit are Monday to Saturday 9am to
4.30pm, so we can only offer these lessons during these
times.
A provisional licence is not required for these lessons.
